Verod Capital Management Limited ("Verod") is pleased to announce the successful exit of Verod Capital Growth Fund II from TAG Investments EW Africa Limited ("TAG West Africa") with Transnational Academic Group Limited (existing shareholders) acquiring Verod’s stake. TAG West Africa owns and operates the Lancaster University Ghana campus in academic partnership with Lancaster University, UK.
TAG West Africa in 2013, partnered with Lancaster University, UK to establish Lancaster University Ghana. Based in Accra, it is the first and only research active British university campus in mainland Africa and offers courses at foundation and undergraduate levels. Students graduate with an internationally recognised Lancaster University degree certificate, opening up opportunities for work and/or further learning.
Verod partnered with TAG West Africa in 2017 to support Lancaster University Ghana in bridging the gap in quality tertiary education in the region. Over the investment period, Verod worked closely with the company to:
Relocate Lancaster University Ghana to a new campus with capacity for around 3,000 students, significantly enhancing the student experience.
Broaden the University’s brand visibility in Nigeria which is a strategic student source country.
Strengthen ESG practices, embedding best-in-class environmental, social, and governance standards into the business.
