Kuramo Capital Limited is pleased to announce the successful first close of Kuramo Africa Opportunity Fund IV L.P., securing commitments of NGN48 billion from local institutional investors. It reached this milestone by receiving commitments from five local Pension Fund Administrators in Nigeria. This is the first successful close of a local currency fund for a pure private equity play (outside of infrastructure funds) in Nigeria.
This significant milestone is on the back of years of engagement with the local pension community in Nigeria, along with the positive changes in the regulatory guidelines. The Fund will invest primarily in high-growth businesses across Nigeria, with selective investments in the wider Sub-Saharan African region. Its investment strategy focuses on partnering with businesses that demonstrate strong growth potential and where active ownership, operational improvements, and strategic support can create sustainable long-term value.
The Fund is managed in accordance with the regulatory framework of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Nigeria and has adopted institutional governance standards designed to promote transparency, accountability, and prudent investment oversight.
