EG Capital welcomes  anchor African Investor in the EG-EEF Fund

EG Capital is pleased to announce that Global Africa Growth Corporation (GAGC) has joined the EG-Economic Empowerment Fund (EG-EEF) as an investor.

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to mobilising long-term, collaborative capital in support of resilient and inclusive economic growth across Africa. EG Capital and GAGC first engaged through the Building Bridges platform in 2024.

With the participation of this anchor African investor, EG Capital has secured cornerstone commitments toward its First Close, including USD 10 million of African institutional and entrepreneurial capital, and is now preparing for its Final Closing over the next 18 months.

EG-EEF is a private credit fund focused on providing structured growth capital to scalable businesses in food security, health resilience, and education, with a strong emphasis on climate adaptation and gender equity outcomes.

EG Capital recently became a member of Convergence, the global network dedicated to advancing blended finance solutions at scale, further strengthening the Fund’s positioning within the international blended-finance ecosystem, and institutional private capital.

GAGC, added, “We believe that patient, well-structured capital is essential to building resilient African businesses and strengthening intra-Africa trade, and regional value chains. EG Capital’s disciplined private credit approach, combined with its strong focus on climate adaptation and inclusive growth, aligns closely with our own values and long-term vision for Africa’s economic development.”

Convergence, commented: “EG Capital’s ability to convene African and international capital around a shared vision for resilient and inclusive growth is a strong example of blended finance in practice. The EG-EEF Fund demonstrates how disciplined private credit structures can be combined with catalytic capital to unlock investment into businesses delivering meaningful social, environmental, and economic outcomes.”

Sandrine Henton, Managing Director of EG Capital, commented: “Welcoming GAGC as an investor in the EG-EEF Fund is a powerful endorsement of our strategy and our conviction that African capital must play a central role in financing Africa’s future. GAGC brings not only long-term capital, but deep entrepreneurial insight and regional understanding that are fully aligned with our investment philosophy and impact objectives.”

EG Capital looks forward to working alongside GAGC, and its broader investor base to advance the Fund’s investment programme and deployment of capital to climate adaptation SMEs across Easter Africa and SADC region.
