AfricInvest is pleased to announce a minority equity investment by its AfricInvest Small Cap Fund (“ASCF”) in Spoon Consulting, a leading Mauritius-based AI-First Boutique Consulting and digital transformation company. The investment accelerates Spoon Consulting’s deployment of cutting-edge AI architectures, expand its enterprise client footprint across Europe and Africa, and solidify its position as the high-agility alternative to legacy consultancies in the EMEA region.
The investment will support the deployment of the Company’s proprietary AI assets and roadmap, support opportunistic external growth through targeted build-up acquisitions, and accelerate its expansion across Africa and the broader EMEA region. Building on its delivery hubs in Mauritius and Madagascar, and now extended through a new subsidiary in Kenya, the Company is well placed to capture a fast-growing pipeline of African opportunities in a multi-billion-dollar cloud market as businesses across the continent digitise. The investment will also strengthen Africa’s cloud and AI talent base by creating more skilled technology jobs across Spoon’s delivery hubs. In parallel, Spoon is designing more efficient digital solutions that help clients capture the benefits of AI while reducing unnecessary computing and energy use.
Spoon Consulting is well-positioned for growth, with a focus on three priorities: scaling its AI capabilities to deliver higher-value services, expanding into African markets and strengthening institutional governance. AfricInvest will support this expansion through strategic guidance and hands-on value creation as well as access to its pan-African network, enabling Spoon to capture the accelerating digital transformation opportunities across Africa.
