About the Opportunity
ARM-Harith is a leading infrastructure private equity platform investing in large and mid-market energy and infrastructure assets across sub-Saharan Africa. A joint venture between ARM — Nigeria’s largest non-bank financial services provider — and Harith General Partners, a Pan-African infrastructure fund manager, we combine deep local knowledge with institutional best practice.
As we scale our successor fund and expand our platform, we are strengthening our finance leadership to match this ambition. We are looking for an experienced and meticulous Head of Finance to take full ownership of the finance function across our GP and fund vehicles. This is a senior role with direct Board exposure and end-to-end responsibility for financial integrity, liquidity management, fund reporting, and regulatory compliance across Nigeria and Mauritius.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in strengthening financial discipline and governance, and institutionalising reporting standards as the firm enters its next growth phase. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring technical depth, a strong control mindset, and sound commercial judgement.
Core Responsibilities
Fund Finance & Operations
• Oversee fund accounting and NAV review across all vehicles (Nigeria & Mauritius), ensuring strict compliance with LPA provisions and investor reporting standards.
• Supervise and coordinate third-party fund administrators, auditors, and tax advisors across jurisdictions.
• Review and validate capital calls, distributions, and waterfall calculations.
• Lead annual fund audit processes and coordinate tax structuring, filings, and cross-jurisdictional compliance.
GP / Fund Management
• Produce timely monthly management accounts and build detailed P&L, balance sheet, and rolling cashflow forecasts.
• Monitor firm-level income, expenses, and budgets; ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Oversee GP commitment tracking, carry modelling, reserves, shareholder loans, and distributions.
• Develop financial dashboards for Board and Committee reporting.
Portfolio Financial Oversight
• Coordinate with the investment team on valuation inputs and validate supporting documentation for IC and LP reporting.
• Monitor portfolio cash yield projections and track exposure to FX, counterparty risk, and refinancing timelines.
• Support exit modelling and distribution forecasting.
Governance & Risk
• Ensure financial compliance with all applicable tax and regulatory obligations (LIRS, FIRS/NRS, SEC, FRCN) and interface with legal/compliance on filings.
• Strengthen internal control systems, finance policies, and procedures.
• Maintain audit readiness, support Audit & Risk Committee reporting, and manage the financial risk register.
Fundraising & LP Interface
• Support data room preparation and investor due diligence alongside the Investment, Investor Relations, and Legal/Compliance teams.
• Validate track record and performance data; ensure consistency between audited accounts and marketing materials.
• Respond to LP financial and operational queries, and present the finance section during due diligence when required.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
• ACA, ACCA, or CPA qualification (mandatory).
• Minimum of 8–12 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in private equity, venture capital, or asset management.
• Good understanding of private equity economics, fund lifecycle, and value creation objectives.
• Demonstrated experience managing multi-entity fund structures and external fund administrators.
• Strong IFRS knowledge, particularly fair value accounting under IFRS 13.
• Experience working with multi-currency fund structures (USD and NGN).
• Advanced Excel modelling skills and experience with fund accounting systems.
• Audit management experience across multiple jurisdictions.
• Prior experience with Board and committee-level financial reporting.
• Highly analytical and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving ability.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to produce clear, investor-grade reporting.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
Preferred
• Prior experience with fund structuring and LP/investor reporting.
• Exposure to Mauritius fund structures.
• Oral and written fluency in French will be an added advantage.
