ABOUT THE ROLE
Job Summary
The Analyst/Senior Analyst will provide critical analytical, research and execution support on infrastructure-related financial advisory mandates. The role entails market and client research, project and corporate finance, financial modelling, business valuation, preparation of transaction documents and supporting deal execution for clients in infrastructure related sectors.
Key Responsibilities
▪ Assist in building and maintaining robust financial models (corporate finance and project finance) for project evaluation, valuation, sensitivity and scenario analysis.
▪ Support the preparation of investment memoranda, investment teasers, pitch books and other transaction documentation for internal and external use.
▪ Assist in structuring, negotiating and executing infrastructure transactions, including project finance, M&A and debt/equity capital raising.
▪ Conduct research on infrastructure sectors across Africa, industry trends and regulatory developments.
▪ Analyse market data, financial statements and project feasibility to inform strategic recommendations.
▪ Work with cross-functional teams to integrate technical, legal and financial inputs into project deliverables.
▪ Liaise with AFC sector experts and other investment professionals to get firsthand insights on selected projects and sectors.
▪ Maintenance of an active database of third-party consultants and Financial Advisory partners being nurtured by the Corporation.
Education
▪ A strong first degree in engineering/economics/finance from a recognized university.
▪ Appropriate financial certification such as ACA, ACCA, CFA, etc is desirable.
▪ Relevant advanced degree e.g. master’s degree in business administration, Finance, or a related field could be an added advantage.
Experience
▪ 3 – 5 years previous professional experience working in Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, Infrastructure Investments, Consulting and/or Financial Advisory assignments in Africa and/or internationally is mandatory.
▪ Relevant experience and understanding of infrastructure development issues, infrastructure finance, project development and private equity.
▪ Good working knowledge of the infrastructure development landscape across African markets.
Fluency in writing and speaking English and French is mandatory. Other international languages will be considered a plus.
