Azur Innovation Fund invests in a Moroccan-Senegalese startup

Moroccan-Senegalese startup Weego, founded by Saad Jittou and Mor Niane, has closed a $1.1 million funding round with Azur Innovation Fund. This round aims to accelerate the deployment of its multimodal transport platform in Morocco, both for the general public and for businesses, and to initiate its expansion across Africa, Europe and the Middle East.

BK Capital invests in Rwanda pharmacy chain

BK Capital, through its BKC Africa Private Debt Fund, has made its first private debt investment in Goodlife Health and Beauty, Rwanda’s largest pharmacy chain. The financing will support Goodlife’s continued expansion and strengthen access to quality pharmaceutical products and health services nationwide.

Inspired Evolution exits clean energy platform

Inspired Evolution is pleased to announce the successful exit of its Evolution II Fund’s controlling stake in Commercial Energy SA (“CESA”), a South African clean energy platform specialising in the ownership and operation of commercial and industrial (“C&I”) solar photovoltaic (“PV”) and battery energy storage systems (“BESS”) assets. CESA was jointly owned by the Evolution II Fund and SolarAfrica Energy.

Third Way backs South African independent power producer

Third Way Investment Partners, via its Core Plus Fund II, has completed a R200 million ($11.8 million) co-investment alongside Vantage GreenX Note III in the Notsi PV Cluster – a 475 MW solar photovoltaic project in South Africa’s Free State province.

Vantage Capital invests R635mn in a South African energy solutions provider

Johannesburg, South Africa – Vantage Capital, Africa’s largest mezzanine debt fund manager, announced that it has made a R635m investment into Commercial Energy South Africa (“CESA”), a subsidiary of SolarAfrica Energy (“SolarAfrica”), a leading South African energy solutions provider, alongside co-investor, Greenpoint Capital. CESA holds commercial & industrial (“C&I”) solar and battery energy assets developed by SolarAfrica.
